Adoré Photography shared this beautiful newborn session with us. Baby Singh’s mommy tells us a bit more about the session.
“We had become a family of four, and were adjusting. Our ‘energetic’ 3 year old had to share his spotlight and we had to remember how to care for a newborn (we were not first time parents but in 3 years, we had seemed to forget so much!) The one thing we had not forgotten was that those special newborn moments go by so quick and the only way to truly appreciate this time was to capture it.
We opted for a shoot at home as it was winter in Joburg so best to keep our baby indoors and our big boy would feel more comfortable as well. Jackie provided a comprehensive pre shoot guide on how to get baby ready which we mostly followed..(and boy was I glad I did.)
Jackie arrived and I immediately felt at ease. She took charge of setting up and preparing baby but was also keen to hear any specific requests we had. I really admired her patience… she kept calm even when baby didn’t pose exactly the way she had positioned him. She would just wait as long as it took for him to settle and be comfortable and then try again. We were lucky that baby slept through most of the shoot… following the pre-shoot guide had worked!
Jackie captured the most breathtaking poses of our precious baby. My favourite moments though were of our two boys together. Let’s just say our 3 year old excercised his independence and was uncooperative at times. Luckily Jackie had some tricks and captured the beautiful brotherly bond..it was enough to make our hearts burst with love!
We adore all the moments captured and know that when we look back at these pictures of our little people, the feelings we had in those moments will flood back and amaze us!
Thinking about it now, I realise what I wanted from the shoot was not perfect posed pictures but it was moments captured. If you are planning to do a newborn shoot, don’t stress (as mums, we naturally want things to go according to plan but it doesn’t always). Just know you will love every pic taken regardless – they are your treasures and it will all be special to you.”
